Recently, Lowepro added to the popular Flipside series with a new all weather pack - the Flipside 400 AW. Previous Lowepro Flipside bags include the Flipside 200 and Flipside 300.
The Flipside bags are great for packing your gear in crowded areas due to the unique design of access zipper. The compartment in which you pack your camera can only be opened from the portion of the bag that rests on your back.
This means that a would-be thief in a crowd can’t get to your goods if they are behind you. The bag has to come off your shoulders to take the camera out.
The Flipside 400 AW is currently available for $149.95 US. It’s available in black and green from Amazon.com.

The Flipside 400 AW backpack, designed for a full day of shooting - rain or shin.
Lowepro, creator of innovative carrying solutions for the imaging world, announces the launch of Flipside 400 AW, a high-performance camera backpack designed with a large capacity, premium security, all-day comfort, plus protection from the elements.
Flipside 400 AW features a unique back-entry compartment that provides easy access to gear when setting up - keeping the harness off the ground and clean - plus extra security when on the move. With access to gear placed in the rear of the backpack, roving hands are discouraged from reaching into the bag. With the padded waist belt secured, gear is quickly reached by rotating the entire bag to the front, offering handsfree use and providing a stable work platform while changing batteries, memory cards or setting up for the next shot. To protect expensive gear from the elements, the Flipside 400 AW includes Lowepro’s patented, built-in All Weather CoverTM.
“As consumers continue to add to their imaging portfolio, we understand their desire for protective and comfortable carrying solutions for a larger camera plus multiple accessories,” said Paul Gibbs, Senior Product Marketing Manager, Maxwell. “Flipside 400 AW gives them an ideal option for all the gear they may need on an assignment, for travel or during an allday trek.”
Flipside 400 AW offers expanded capacity with room for a professional DSLR with attached zoom lens and 4-6 additional lenses. Adjustable dividers allow custom organisation inside the main compartment. Other features include: a meshcovered, padded waist belt, back pad and contoured straps added comfort and wicking away moisture; a hideaway tripod holder to secure a tripod or monopod to the backpack; built-in memory card pockets on inside panel; front storage panels and mesh pockets for storing additional gear; attachment loops for SlipLockTM compatible products; and silent zipper pulls.
This newest model follows the success of two smaller-sized companions (Flipside 200 and 300), geared to the amateur who wants the convenience and comfort of a rotating bag. The Flipside 400 AW is ideal for the serious enthusiast or professional photographer who needs peace of mind and a full set of premium features in a sturdy and comfortable camera backpack.

"So compact, so light", "Enjoy easy shooting anywhere, anytime" - these were the catchphrases used for the original "Pen" - a compact film camera that made its debut back in 1959. Today's PEN is inspired by the same concepts. What made it all possible was the new Micro Four Thirds System standard. Just as the incredibly small size of the original Pen cameras was based on the revolutionary idea of the half-frame camera, which took pictures at half the size of 35mm film, the new PEN was made possible by the development of the Micro Four Thirds System, which has facilitated a dramatic reduction in camera size. Our goal was to create a camera that is as portable as a pen, just like the original.

![]() ![]() The B+W filter manufacturing company was founded in Berlin in 1947 by business partners Biermann and Weber. In 1985 the merger with the Jos. Schneider Optical Works in Bad Kreuznach expanded the B+W line of products with optical filters for science and technology. It also generated significant progress in multi-layer coating systems (MC). As a result, B+W became the first manufacturer of filters in the world to offer the innovative water- and dirt repelling MRC multi-layer coating process, which, in addition to its reflection-preventing qualities is also regarded as being especially scratch-resistant. In Bad Kreuznach, the most modern fabrication machines produce highly precise filters in an impressive variety of types and diameters. Quality controls are integrated at all key stages of the production process, and a final inspection of every individual filter ensures the renowned high B+W quality standard. At B+W, our commitment to our guarantee and service are taken seriously. Continuous improvements and new developments enable users to achieve their best possible images. By comparison, a cheap filter can reduce the imaging performance of a high-quality lens quite dramatically! Therefore, consider the quality of a filter as seriously as you would consider the choice of your lenses – look for the B+W brand, because the quality of the image depends upon what is in front of the lens!

HD65 Home Theater Projector: Physical TourThe HD65 really is very small, with only a 10.2 inch by 7.4 inch footprint. It's white, with silver and black trim, so it's cute. From the front: The recessed zoom lens, There is a button for the front drop down foot, near the center bottom. It's a really small button, easy to overlook. Moving to the top, you'll find the dial for the zoom function of the lens. Like almost all Further towards the back, is the control panel. In this case a multi-ringed affair. The outer ring has three buttons, the AV Mute, the Power button (once on, twice off), and the Menu button. There are also three indicator lamps, one for power, one for lamp, and one for temperature. The inner ring has the four arrow keys for navigating the menus, with the left and right arrow keys doing a second function when the menus aren't in use. The left arrow is the Source select button, and the right one, Re-Sync, fortriggering the auto-sync button to let the projector figure out the best settings for a computer source.
All considered, very functional! That takes us to the Input panel on the back. The Optoma HD65 input panel, from left to right has S-video, an analog computer input (the standard HD15 connector), that supports analog computers, European SCART, or component video. Next comes three RCA jacks for component video, and a single RCA jack for composite video. Further to the right, is an HDMI input (1.3), a service port, and finally a 12 volt trigger for controlling a properly equipped motorized projector screen.
